5 More Awesome Apps for RI Dolls Dancers

Last year we suggested 5 apps that dancers at Rhode Island Dolls in Woonsocket might love but there’s so many more apps that dancers can download to their smartphones to make their lives better. As a dancer, there’s loads of ways that you can make your smartphone work for you.

One of the best things that you can do with your smartphone as a dancer is make sure that you stay organized. One of the best apps for keeping organized and scheduling is still the Google Calendar. You can schedule your work, set alarms, take notes, and even share a calendar with someone (like a boyfriend or spouse or even your boss if that helps). It’s super easy to use and once you get used to using it on a consistent basis it is very helpful.

Now, music is a very important part of your job. Your music choices for your stage set can make you stand out or if you’re using the same music as every other dancer in the area, it can make you blend in. And you don’t want to blend in. So, discover hot new music with the Spotify app. It’s free and you can find so many different songs on there! Look for songs by new artists or new songs by your favorite artists. Create a playlist based on a specific genre of music or even a specific decade. Besides music for your stage routines, you can create playlists for relaxing, for working out, for bath time, or just to listen to for fun. There’s a premium version if you really want to ramp up your music listening habits, too.

If you have an iPhone, Tip Counter is another app that you can use to keep track of how much you are earning in tips. It’s really meant for restaurant servers but you can use it, too. You enter the amount of tips you earned and the shift you worked and the app provides you with all sorts of useful data that can help you figure out things like when your best nights are and how much you are making overall. It’s a great idea to keep track of your tips and this makes it so much more fun than just writing it down in a notebook.

Working out is part of your life if you’re a dancer at RI Dolls. You have to stay in shape. But you don’t always have time to hit the gym, do you? That’s when a cool workout app like Sworkit comes in handy. One of the best things about this app is that you can try lots of different workouts so you never get bored. And you can do them right from the comfort of your living room. You might not want to give up your gym membership completely, but this is a great option for those days when you just don’t feel like leaving the house.  Choose from different workouts and set the time you want to workout and the intensity level and you’ve got a workout that is made just for you.  And you know that it’s a good bet for working out because it was ranked as the app that comes closest to the recommendations made by the American College of Sports Medicine.

Finally, the last app that you should add to your phone is the Amazon Shopping app. Seriously, it’s Amazon! It is the app that every busy woman should have. Not only can you buy almost everything you can possibly imagine on Amazon (seriously – go look for something and you’ll find at least a couple options) but you can have it delivered to your home. The next time you run out of your favorite beauty product, you don’t have to go to the mall – just pick up your phone and order it from Amazon. You can even buy food. Got the munchies in the middle of the afternoon on your day off but can’t bear to get up and get dressed and go to the store? Order your Doritos and Pepsi from your phone. If you have the Amazon Prime feature you can even get it super fast.  But just think how much easier it would be to go shopping for accessories and costumes when you can do it from your phone!

Smartphones aren’t just for browsing the internet and keeping up with social media anymore. Smartphones really can make your life easier. So, since that phone is so smart, think of it as your personal assistant and make your life and your job easier.
