The Brazilian Bikini Wax Invention

Brazilian bikini waxes were first introduced to the US in 1987 in the heart of Manhattan. This hair removal method was brought to America by 7 Brazilian-born sisters who call themselves, the J Sisters. The sisters own their own salon where their passion is sharing the beauty secrets of Brazil. Their salon is still in operation today.

What’s The Difference Between A Regular Bikini Wax And A Brazilian Bikini Wax?

The difference is that with a regular bikini wax, hair is removed from any hairy area that shows while wearing a bikini bottom. That usually means the very top, inside of your legs, where your legs meet your pubic region. With a Brazilian wax, all pubic hair is removed, including the hair between your butt cheeks. Sometimes, RI Dolls dancers choose to leave a very trimmed “landing strip” in the front. Many Dolls will ask for the Hollywood Wax, where every single pubic hair is removed.

What Happens During A Brazilian Bikini Wax?

You arrive at the spa and let the girl at the front desk know you’re there. You will be called back into a small, private room with a table covered in a paper sheet. Then, the technician will leave the room, closing the door behind her, so you can get completely undressed from the waist down. You may or may not be provided with a paper thong that you can wear if you’d like.

The waxer will come back after a few minutes, chit-chat with you a bit, and confirm that you want a Brazilian wax. This is when you’ll tell her if you want to leave a triangle, landing strip, or any other shape in the front. As an adult entertainer, you may have an idea for something unique or unusual, and this is the time to talk to your technician about it. Also, tell the waxer if this is the first time you’ve had a bikini wax or a Brazilian bikini wax.

Next, the technician will apply talcum powder onto your skin where she will be applying the wax. This keeps the wax from sticking to your skin. Then, she’ll dip a wooden waxing stick into a pot of hot wax, and then smear it onto your skin in the same direction that the hair grows. She should be using a fresh stick to dip into the wax each time. While the wax is still warm, she’ll place a piece of cloth over the wax, and then press it down firmly so that the cloth, hair, and wax will all stick together.

Once the wax has cooled completely, she will pull the strip of cloth off quickly, in the opposite direction of the hair growth. This will pull your pubic hairs out by the roots. If the pain seems too much to bare, you can ask for the wax technician to do smaller areas at a time. Also, you may be asked to help hold skin taut as your waxer does her magic.

Since most technicians work from the front to the back, she will wax between your buttocks last. Thankfully, that’s usually the least painful area. For this part of your Brazilian wax session, you may be asked to kneel on the table, or to lie on your stomach so your wax technician can easily access and remove the hair on your bum.

Once the waxing is done, the technician will use tweezers to pull out any stray hairs. She may also trim your landing strip, or create whatever shape or design you asked for. Sometimes, woman will want their remaining pubs died, which is done at this time. Your wax technician will finish up your treatment by applying soothing lotion over the waxed areas.

Since waxing is a service just like getting your hair cut and styled, you should tip your wax technician at least 20%. Tip her more if you think she did an amazing job. If you are not satisfied, then speak up or talk to a manager before giving a low tip, or not tipping at all.

Brazilian Bikini Wax Tips:

• Make sure your pubic hair is at least ¼ inch long. If you have course hair, then it must be at least ½-inch long. Any shorter and the wax won’t be able to grab onto it and you’ll be sent home without being waxed.
• If you’re new to waxing, get a regular bikini wax a few times before going for the Brazilian. They are less painful and a great way to get that delicate area of your body used to waxing before going for something as bold as a Brazilian.
• Take an ibuprofen about an hour before your appointment to minimize pain.
• Hard wax is usually less painful that soft wax.
• Get waxed every 3-4 weeks to keep pain levels down and your girls parts in pristine condition at all times.
