Join Rhode Island Dolls and RI Pink Heals For The Annual Poker Run

If there’s one event that you can get to this year make it the Cruisin’ for Cancer 5 Card Poker Run. Rhode Island Dolls is working with the Rhode Island Pink Heals this year to put together a fabulous fun time for everyone.

RI Pink Heals helps companies in Rhode Island to keep the money they earn to help people suffering from cancer in their very own neighborhoods. They are a non-profit organization and they help women with cancer, and men and children, too. All the money raised with the help of the RI Pink Heals stays in the community. The organization is made up of teachers, police officers, nurses, firefighters and survivors of cancer.

Here’s the low down on the Cruisin for Cancer event in Rhode Island this year:

Now that you know the details, you might be asking – what’s the big deal? Why should I sign up to something like this?

If you’ve never heard of it before, a poker run is when a large group of people ride their motorcycles to predestined checkpoints to draw a playing card, drink a cold one, and socialize with other bikers. There are typically five to seven checkpoints, so each person ends the run with five to seven cards. Oftentimes, actual playing cards aren’t used due to the large number of participants. Instead, you’ll get a piece of paper, or score card, where you’ll keep track of your playing cards.

You can take your time and linger at each check point or speed right through. The choice is yours. Most poker run participants spend a brief amount of time at each stop to enjoy a cold brewsky, talk with each other, and look at all the different bikes. You just have to make sure you’re at the last checkpoint by the end of the event in order to submit your final poker hand. The score cards will be collected, and the judges will tally them up. The person with the best poker hand at the end of the event is the winner. In most cases, the winner must be present to accept their prize.

Doesn’t that sound like a great time?

Besides the fact that it is a great excuse to ride your bike and the fact that you are helping to raise money for a great cause, there are more good reasons to join in the Cruisin’ for Cancer 5 Card Poker Run this year. If you love motorcycles, you’ll get a chance to see some of the most beautiful machines in Rhode Island. There are people driving different styles and models and most people are happy to show off what they are riding and talk about all the work they have put into it.

It’s also a great opportunity to meet new friends that like the same kinds of things that you do – riding bikes and enjoying the company of beautiful babes.

Speaking of babes – yes, there are going to be lots of beautiful women there. Besides the women that are riding their own bikes, the event finishes up at Rhode Island dolls gentlemen’s club so you can take the time to have a few drinks while you watch the gorgeous dolls do their thing on the stage.

If you have some old biker friends that you haven’t seen in a while, there is a good chance that you will see them at the poker derby. It’s a great time to catch up with what has been going on, who got married, who didn’t get married – and most importantly, who got new bikes!
