Let the Rhode Island Dolls Lift Your Spirits
The beginning of a new year can be so awesome. You have plans. They are so awesome. And you just know that everything will be great. That’s how I felt at the beginning of 2017, too. But you know, somehow, my plans just didn’t go the way I wanted them to. And the more things that I didn’t follow through on (like going to the gym every day!) the worse I felt. Within a few weeks I felt like a pile of crap and I had almost given up.
But going to Rhode Island Dolls in Woonsocket, Rhode Island really help. You likely think I am crazy, right? I mean, how can going to a gentlemen’s club possibly lift your spirits? Well, let me tell you.
I was feeling really crappy a couple of weeks ago and one of my best buddies picked up on it. He was the one that suggested coming to RI Dolls on a Friday night. Now, normally, my wife would never have it but she’d noticed that I’d been feeling down and out so she said, ya, I should go have a night out with my friend. She didn’t even say a word when I told her where he wanted to take me. I guess she knows that I really only care about her and the kids. And by mid-week, I was starting to look forward to it.
Now, in the past, I had really only been there for bachelor parties and stuff like that. We’d get pretty rowdy. I wasn’t sure if I was up for that but my friend promised that this was just going to be a low key night.
When we got there we ordered some beers and some appetizers. They have really good food. After we ate that, we order more drinks and dinner. My buddy insisted on buying me a steak. I had only had burgers there before (which are still pretty awesome) so I was really impressed with how good the steak was. We relaxed and chatted while we ate and drank and pretty soon I forgot all about my worries. For the most part.
But I really forgot about everything when we moved up to the stage. There was this beautiful dancer up there. I can’t remember her name. Ashley? Cindy? I don’t know. It doesn’t matter. She mesmerized me with her beauty and her moves. Long blonde wave hair cascaded over her shoulders as she spun around the pole and looked at me with these blue eyes that made me feel like I could get lost in them forever. I couldn’t take my eyes off of her to be honest.
A few more girls danced on the stage and we watched them all intently but I just couldn’t get that one dancer out of my mind. Then she walked out onto the floor and I spotted her. I guess my friend saw the look on my face when I saw her because he instantly motioned her over to our table. She smiled at me and we talked for a few minutes. Then my friend slipped her some cash and said, “He needs some special attention.”
She took me into the private dance area and…well, you know. She was amazing. I talked a little bit as she danced but it was only to distract myself enough to prevent things from getting out of control, if you know what I mean. But it really was a great dance.
Afterwards, I went back to the main room. My buddy and I stayed for a few more hours. We drank, chatted with dancers, got some lap dances, watched some more of the girls on the stage. And in between the dancers, we talked. My buddy knew that I was feeling low because I wasn’t accomplishing much. He knew I needed more than just a visual boost – I needed an emotional boost, too. We talked about the things I wanted to do and how I could change some of my habits to make them possible.
My buddy is a good guy. He knew exactly what I needed to feel better. It wasn’t just the dancers (but they sure didn’t hurt my mood!) and it wasn’t just the booze. It was him and Rhode Island Dolls and the right atmosphere and the hope that brought it all together.
It’s been a few weeks since we went to RI Dolls and I’m not perfect but I’m working on it and I’m feeling a lot better. I realized that no one is perfect and it’s ok to take a little time out from reality once in a while and Rhode Island Dolls is a great place to do that.
