Natural Hair, Natural Beauty for RI Dolls Dancers
There is no doubt that having beautiful hair takes a lot of work. It takes a consistent routine and time and effort. But if you’re a dancer at Rhode Island Dolls in Woonsocket, RI, giving your hair that extra attention can be worth it. Men love hair that looks like they could run their fingers through it. They love to see hair that looks like it would smell great. So, if you pay attention and put the time and effort into your hair, you can reap the reward with extra earning potential.
One great way to do that is to make the switch from store-bought hair products to homemade hair products. Here’s a few recipes to get you started:
These are the two simplest and most popular products used to wash and condition hair:
Easiest All Natural Shampoo Recipe
- 1 cup of water
- 1 tablespoon of baking soda.
Mix these two ingredients into a squirt or spray bottle. A cheap ketchup squeeze bottle works great. Wet your hair first, then squirt the shampoo onto sections of your hair. Massage the shampoo into your scalp. Rinse as normal.
Easiest All Natural Conditioner Recipe
- 1 cup of water
- 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar or lemon juice
Mix these two ingredients into a squirt or spray bottle. A cheap mustard squeeze bottle works great. After you’ve shampooed and rinsed your hair, squirt this conditioner onto the ends of your hair and massage it in. Then rinse as normal.
If you are looking for an all natural hair product recipe with a little more ingredients and prettier scents, try these:
Homemade Shampoo
- 1 cup pure liquid castile soap (like Dr. Bronners)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon honey
Mix all the ingredients into an empty shampoo bottle. Then shampoo your hair with it as you normally would.
Conditioner Recipe to repair Dry hair
- 2 ounces aloe vera gel
- 1/2 teaspoon olive oil
- 2 ounces apple cider vinegar
- 1 ounce powdered milk
Mix all the ingredients into a bowl. Massage mixture into dry hair. Wrap hair in a hot towel or cover with shower cap for 15 minutes. Shampoo & rinse out.
Oily Hair Conditioner Recipe
- 4 drops rosemary oil
- 4 drops lavender oil
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tablespoon jojoba oil
Add all ingredients into a small pan, then warm up the mixture on low heat. Massage mixture into the scalp and hair. Wrap hair in a hot towel for 15 minutes. Shampoo & rinse out. You can substitute the jojoba oil for hazelnut oil.
Avocado Deep Conditioner Recipe
- 1/2 cup mayo
- 1/2 avocado
Peel the avocado and remove the pit. Mash the avocado in a medium-sized bowl, then add the mayo and mix with your hands until it’s a consistent green color. Smooth the conditioner into hair. Put a shower cap on or wrap your head in plastic wrap to seal body heat in. Leave on your hair for 20 minutes. For deeper conditioning wrap a hot, damp towel around your head over the plastic, or use a hair dryer set to a low to medium heat setting. Store any remaining conditioner in the refrigerator.
Lemon-fresh Hair Spray
- 2 cups water
- 2 lemons
- 1 tablespoon vodka
Put the water in a saucepan and bring it to a boil. While the water is boiling, peel the lemons and chop them into tiny pieces. Once boiling, put the lemons into the water and simmer over low heat until the lemons are soft. Then, let the lemon water cool off, strain out the pieces of lemon, and pour the mixture into a spray bottle. Add the vodka to the spray bottle and shake it well to mix the ingredients. Use this just like you would use store-bought hair spray. If the hair spray is too sticky, dilute it with a little water.
Natural Mousse Recipe For Hair
- 2 egg whites
Beat the egg whites until they hold stiff peaks. Then rub into damp hair. Style your hair as usual.
DIY Detangler And Dandruff Treatment
- 2 cups water
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
Mix the water and vinegar in a spray or squirt bottle. Right before you use it, shake it up to thoroughly mix the ingredients. Then, apply the mixture directly to your scalp. Run your fingers through your hair a few times while the mixture does its cleaning and conditioning, and then rinse out.
Anti Frizz Serum Recipe for Hair
- 4 once Camellia Oil
- 1/2 once Castor Oil
- 1/2 once Unrefined Avocado Oil
- 25 drops Essential oils of your choice for scent
Combine all ingredients listed above into a glass dropper bottle. When you’re ready to use it, shake the bottle well and then apply a small amount to damp hair. Blow-dry and style your hair as usual. You can also apply a very small amount to dry hair to smooth it out and add shine.
