RI Dolls Dancers Can Get Social and Increase Business

Girl on social mediaAs a stripper at a gentlemen’s club, you might be used to the traffic that comes in the front door. It’s a great way to make money because you know that the people who walk in the door want to see you dance and shake it! But they also know they are expected to pay for the entertainment you provide.

But have you thought about using social media to bring in new customers? There’s a lot of great reasons why erotic dancers should think about using social media to promote themselves and create a fan base.

Of course, you need to be happy about what you do for a living and be willing to share what you do. If dancing is something you’re doing on the down low, this promotion method is not for you.

However, if you wear your stripper badge with pride and you want to see your income grow, it’s time you started taking advantage of social media marketing. Get new customers coming in just to see you!

Here are some things you need to keep in mind when you are using social media to promote yourself as an exotic dancer:

#1  Become a pro at one or two networks

Why? Isn’t more exposure better? Yes, but the thing is that most people can’t consistently keep up to more than one social network. Consistency is the key to being successful and getting real results on social media. Facebook works for many but with the changes that frequently occur, Facebook Page owners often find that their posts just don’t get as much exposure. A better platform might be Instagram. Models, dancers, and web girls are learning that Instagram is perfect for them because it involves minimal writing and lots of visuals.

#2 Keep the personal details behind the scenes

The reason people follow you is that they want to get to know you better. So, share some things like a picture of you in a bikini at the beach. But don’t share personal details like the name of the beach; otherwise your fans might go looking for you there. Give them a peek at who you are and your life but don’t give them so much info that they can seek you out and find you where you live and play.

#3 Follow the rules of each social network

Most social media sites have a rule about nudity. Don’t try to slide a nip slip past them for your fans. Honestly, it will probably just get reported or removed. Remember that social media sites are public so you don’t want any little ones accidentally seeing things they should not. Parents tend to frown on that. The worst case scenario is that you get your account banned.

There are other rules you should keep in mind that affect how you use the network. For example, Facebook has this “use your real name rule” and you might not want your customers to know your real name. That’s ok. Instead of using a profile (which is where they expect your real name to be), create a Facebook Page and use your stage name there. No one will ever know who actually runs the page so no one needs to know your real name.

#4 Use lots of images

No matter what networks you are utilizing, people love pictures. If you’re good with a video camera, you might want to consider recording short videos, too. Periscope is a new social network channel that allows you to live broadcast. You talk, people watch and comment. You can do this easily on your phone with the app from iTunes or Google Play. Then, you can save the video to your phone to upload to other social networks later. It’s a lot of fun and fans love it.

#5 Think of it as engagement, not advertising

Yes, you’re on social networks to promote yourself as a brand. You’re going to tell people when you’re going to be on stage. Just keep it low key. However, you shouldn’t make every single post promotional. The 80/20 rule suggests that only 20% of your posts should be promotional. The rest of your posts should encourage comments, likes, hearts, and other types of interaction.

If you decide you want to use social networks to promote yourself and earn more money as a dancer, you’ll find that it takes some time and effort. If you fall into a pattern of posting a bit each day and responding to comments though, you’ll find that customers will come to see you again and again. It can be a beneficial tool for the dancer that is proud of her job choice.

They say the best form of advertising is word of mouth and social media marketing is the new word of mouth. Give it a try if you dare!
